Alton River Dragons Game Relocated to Glazebrook Park in Godfrey

by Mick Lite

UPDATE:

The Alton River Dragons regret to announce that tonight’s game against Springfield, scheduled to take place in Godfrey, has been cancelled. The Prospect League did not approve the all-dirt infield and temporary pitcher’s mound that were prepared for tonight’s game.

Despite the best efforts of Mayor McCormick and his dedicated staff to prepare the field, the League’s decision has forced us to cancel the event. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Mayor McCormick and his team for their hard work and commitment to creating a venue for our community to come together and enjoy an evening of baseball.

Looking ahead, the River Dragons will be on the road tomorrow to take on the O’Fallon Hoots in O’Fallon, MO.

The first pitch is scheduled for 7:00 PM, and in a gesture of appreciation to our loyal fans and the Godfrey community, admission to tonight’s game will be free. This is a fantastic opportunity for baseball enthusiasts and families to come out and enjoy a thrilling game under the summer sky.

“We are grateful to the Village of Godfrey for accommodating us on such short notice,” said the River Dragons’ General Manager Dallas Martz. “We look forward to a great game and hope to see a lot of support from both Alton and Godfrey communities.”
