St. Louis CITY SC have signed St Louis CITY2 goalkeeper Christian Olivares to a two-year contract that runs through the 2025 MLS season with club options in 2026 and 2027.
“We saw great qualities in Christian from this past season in MLS NEXT Pro”, said Sporting Director Lutz Pfannenstiel. “As a young prospect, we hope to see him grow professionally with us and build off of last season performance.”
Olivares, 21, started eight of CITY2’s first 12 matches, tallying a 3-3-2 mark with two penalty kick wins and a clean sheet. After being injured for a stretch of 10 games, he helped CITY2 with two wins and a draw in the last three games to push St Louis into the playoffs. The Tacoma, Washington, native recorded three clean sheets and 43 saves in 12 total regular-season matches.
