A 7-0 spurt covering just over a minute gave Saint Louis its first double-digit lead, 26-15. The Billikens went on to lead by as many as 14 points before settling for a 37-25 cushion at intermission.
SLU began the second half 8-of-12 from the field, outscoring USI 20-8 to establish its largest lead, 57-33, at the 13:18 mark. The final margin of 12 was as close as the visitors would get.
