Memphis Redbirds starting pitcher Michael McGreevy (7-2) posted his best start of the 2023 season on Sunday afternoon against Iowa. The right-handed pitcher tossed 7.0 innings of shutout baseball, allowed three hits, walked four and struck out six. McGreevy extended his team lead in the win column with the victory.
First baseman Luken Baker drove home center fielder Tommy Edman with a two-out double in the first inning. Baker now has 20 doubles on the season. Third baseman Jose Fermin provided some insurance with a solo home run in the bottom of the seventh. Fermin ended the day 2-for-2 with a run scored, a double, a homer, an RBI and a walk.
