MEMPHIS, TN – The Memphis Redbirds continued a six-game road trip with a 4-2 win over the Omaha Storm Chasers on Saturday night at Werner Park.

With the Redbirds up 2-0 in the top of the sixth inning and catcher Ivan Herrera at second base, center fielder Moises Gomez drilled his fifth home run of the series to double the lead. Gomez now has 15 blasts on the season, tied-second in the International League and three behind Memphis slugger Luken Baker for the league lead.

Second baseman Masyn Winn extended his hit streak to a season-long 11 games with an RBI base hit in the third inning. First baseman Taylor Motter put together yet another multi-hit effort, going 2-for-4 with a run scored in the win.

On the mound, Jake Woodford made his second MLB Rehab start of the series. The right-handed hurler tossed 3.0 innings of scoreless, hitless baseball, walked one batter and struck out two. Zack Thompson (1-1) earned the win in relief. Thompson threw 4.0 innings, allowed two runs on five hits, walked four and struck out six batters. Guillermo Zuñiga (S, 5) added on to his team saves lead with a perfect ninth inning.

The Redbirds (30-26) return to AutoZone Park on Tuesday, June 6 to begin a six-game homestand at 7:05p.m. CDT against the Durham Bulls. You can find more information on upcoming promotions at AutoZone Park here.
