Saint Louis guard Gibson Jimerson announced today that he will remain at Saint Louis University for the 2023-24 season.
Jimerson, who has played four seasons with the Billikens, graduated from Saint Louis University in December 2022 with a degree in international business. The Academic All-American intends to work toward his MBA at SLU.
“There’s nowhere I’d rather be than Saint Louis University,” Jimerson said. “I can’t wait to continue my journey here with my coaches and teammates and play in front of our amazing fans. The opportunity to build on what we have here excites me. The St. Louis community has made me feel at home, and I couldn’t be more proud to represent this city.”
“We are obviously thrilled that Gibson has decided to utilize another season of eligibility at SLU,” Billikens head coach Travis Ford said. “He has an exceptional work ethic and there is no doubt in my mind he will continue to grow as a player. Gibson provides so much to our basketball team, both on and off the court, and will be an impactful part of our roster in 2023-24.”
In four years with the Billikens, Jimerson has scored 1,303 career points to rank 18th in school history. He is third all-time at SLU with 233 career 3-pointers made.
Jimerson has led the Billikens in scoring in each of the last two years, including 14.0 ppg in 2022-23. He was named second-team All-Conference this season after being named third-team All-Conference in 2021-22.
Jimerson has two years of eligibility remaining – the 2020-21 season did not count against a student-athletes’ eligibility, and Jimerson received a medical hardship waiver in 2019-20.
