St. Louis CITY SC Homegrown midfielder Miguel Perez was named to the United States Under-19 Men’s National Team. Perez will join the U-19s following CITY SC’s match against San Jose on Saturday.
The U-19s will have their training camp located in Buenos Aires, Argentina from March 20 through March 28. Perez will miss St. Louis’s match against Real Salt Lake on March 25 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Perez, 17, had a strong first-team training camp and earned a first-team Homegrown contract on February 21. Since his signing, the St. Louis native made his MLS debut in CITY SC’s inaugural match on February 25 at Austin, coming on as a sub and playing for 30 minutes. Perez followed up with an appearance in St. Louis’s home opener and then made his first MLS regular-season start in Portland, playing 66 minutes in the 2-1 win.
