Saint Louis head men’s basketball coach Travis Ford announced today that point guard Cian Medley (Sicklerville, N.J. / Camden HS) has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Saint Louis University and play for the Billikens. Medley (first name pronounced see-on) begins his four years of eligibility in the 2023-24 season.
“We are thrilled to have Cian as part of Team Blue,” Ford said. “He is a great floor general who truly understands the point guard position. Cian is a smart, vocal and high-energy point guard. He plays hard on both ends – he has a great mid-range to 3-point shot who can score when he needs to, and he also can be a difference-maker defensively.
“Cian is used to winning, having been the leader of one of the top high school and AAU programs in America the last few years,” Ford said. “He has a great feel for the game and really enjoys making everyone around him better. Cian plays the game with great enthusiasm; you can tell he loves the game of basketball when he plays.”
Last season, Medley helped Camden High to a New Jersey State Group 2 championship. For the year, he averaged 10.2 points and nearly four assists per game for the Panthers. During his career he has also helped Camden to two sectional titles. Off the court, Medley is a member of the National Honors Society.
Medley has also made a name for himself on the Nike EYBL circuit. He averaged 7.5 points and more than 5.0 assists last summer for NJ Scholars Elite.
