The season gets underway with two quality home matches. The Billikens welcome Louisville to Hermann Stadium on Thursday, Aug. 26, for the season opener. Creighton then visits on Sunday, August 29.
SLU heads to Chicago to face Illinois-Chicago on Friday, Sept. 3. Memphis visits Hermann Stadium on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 6. The Billikens then have a matchup at SMU in Dallas set for Friday, Sept. 10.
On Tuesday, Sept. 14, SIUE visits Hermann Stadium for the annual Bronze Boot matchup. Saint Louis is the current keeper of the Bronze Boot trophy after knocking off the Cougars in double overtime in 2019 in Edwardsville. Last season’s matchup, which was scheduled for February, was canceled due to inclement weather.
SLU then begins A-10 play at UMass on Saturday, Sept. 18. Last season, the Minutemen won seven games and earned an at-large bid in the NCAA Men’s Soccer Championship.
In A-10 play, the Billikens will host George Mason (Saturday, Sept. 25), defending A-10 champion and NCAA Championship qualifier Fordham (Saturday, Oct. 2), Dayton (Saturday, Oct. 16) and Rhode Island (Saturday, Oct. 30).
In addition to playing at UMass, Saint Louis travels to Saint Joseph’s (Wednesday, Oct. 6), VCU (Saturday, Oct. 9) and George Washington (Saturday, Oct. 23) during A-10 action.
The Billikens have a pair of nonconference matches mixed in during conference play. They host Central Arkansas on Tuesday, Sept. 21, and travel to face Kansas City on Tuesday, Sept. 28.
SLU plays its first of two preseason matches on Sunday, Aug. 15, when it travels to meet Wisconsin. Missouri State comes to town on Saturday, Aug. 21, for an exhibition match at Hermann Stadium.
Saint Louis went 9-5 overall and was second in the A-10 with a 4-2 mark last season. The Billikens return seven All-Conference players from a season ago and nine of their 11 goal scorers. Also returning is the reigning A-10 Defensive Player of the Year, goalkeeper Patrick Schulte.
