Hoots to Play in 2020 Despite Prospect League Cancellation

by David Schmoll

The O’Fallon Hoots announced today that the Prospect League has canceled their 2020 season due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and resulting government regulations across the five-state league and that the team will still play in 2020. The first game is currently scheduled for July 2.

While we are certainly disappointed that the Prospect League has canceled for this summer, we are excited to have baseball at the ballpark in 2020,” Hoots General Manager David Schmoll said. “We have players in the area who have lost their college seasons and want to play as well as fans who want to see baseball. We are committed to providing that for both groups in a safe and responsible manner.”

The Hoots will host 30 games in O’Fallon in a season from July 2 through August 14. For players wishing to play for the Hoots, visit ofallonhoots.com/beahoot. Tickets will go on sale at a later date. To sign up for the priority wait list, visit ofallonhoots.com/single-game-tickets. Due to capacity limits, only a limited number of tickets will be available to each night.

A revised game and promotional schedule will be available soon. If you have already purchased tickets to a Hoots game this summer, a representative will be in contact with you once our new schedule has been released to choose your new dates.
