The St. Louis Blues have agreed to terms on two-year, one-way contract extensions with goaltender Ville Husso and defenseman Niko Mikkola.
Husso’s contract is $750,000 per season while Mikkola’s deal is worth $787,500 per season.
Husso, 24, was originally drafted by the Blues in the fourth round (No. 94 overall) of the 2014 NHL Draft. This season, the 6-foot-2, 205-pound goaltenders has appeared in 30 games for the Blues’ American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the San Antonio Rampage, posting a 10-12-8 record along with a 2.93 goals-against average and a .898 save percentage. Overall, the Helsinki, Finland, native has tallied a 44-50-8 record during his four-year AHL career.
Mikkola, 23, was originally drafted by the Blues in the fifth round (No. 127 overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft. This season, the 6-foot-4, 205-pound defenseman has logged one assist in five games with the Blues and 11 points (two goals, nine assists) in 33 games with the Rampage. Overall, the Kiiminki, Finland, native has collected 20 points (four goals, 16 assists) and 55 penalty minutes in two seasons with the Rampage.
