Billikens Host No. 13 Dayton Friday Night

by Brian Kunderman

Saint Louis welcomes the 13th-ranked Dayton Flyers to Chaifetz Arena on Friday night. Tip time is scheduled for 6 p.m.

++ Due to the sellout crowd expected at Chaifetz Arena on Friday, fans are encouraged to arrive early. Gates to Chaifetz Arena will open at 4:30 p.m. ++

Friday’s game is the first A-10/ESPN Friday Night Showcase game of the season on ESPN2. Mike Corey and Mark Plansky have the call. The radio broadcast airs on 101 ESPN, with Billiken Hall of Famers Bob Ramsey and Earl Austin Jr. calling the action.

The Billikens have won three in a row and six of their last seven and enter Friday’s game 14-3 overall and 3-1 in league play. Dayton, ranked No. 13 in this week’s AP Top 25, brings a six-game winning streak and a 15-2 record (4-0 A-10) into the game.

Here are five additional facts in advance of Friday’s game against Dayton:

1 // Jordan Goodwin and Hasahn French continue to be the only teammates in NCAA Division I both averaging a double-double.

2 // Goodwin is the reigning A-10 Player of the Week after he averaged 23.0 ppg and 8.5 rpg in Billiken victories last week against George Washington and Richmond.

3 // Friday’s game is close to selling out. If it does, it will be the first sellout at Chaifetz Arena since the 2014-15 season opener against Southern Illinois.

4 // This is the Billikens’ third game against a ranked opponent this season, and the second at Chaifetz Arena. It will be the 10th time the Billikens have played a ranked foe at Chaifetz Arena.

5 // Friday’s game serves as the annual “Billiken Blizzard.” All fans are encouraged to wear white, and they also will receive a free white T-shirt on their seat.

Up Next: The Billikens travel to Davidson, North Carolina, to face the Davidson Wildcats on Wednesday, Jan. 22, at 6 p.m. (CT). That game will be televised on FOX Sports Midwest.
