BattleHawks Join STL Sports Commission

St. Louis BattleHawks Team President Kurt Hunzeker has recently been added to the St. Louis Sports Commission Board of Directors.

“The St. Louis Sports Commission represents the very best of St. Louis’ storied sports community,” Hunzeker said.  “I am honored and humbled to join these influential executives promoting the greatest sports city in the U.S. and look forward to helping make a positive and immediate impact as an actively contributing board member.”

Hunzeker was most recently the Vice President of Marketing Strategy and Research for Minor League Baseball (MiLB), before being named President of the XFL football team in St. Louis.

“It’s great to welcome Kurt onto our board,” said St. Louis Sports Commission President Frank Viverito. “We’ve known Kurt for many years and are excited about his presence in the local sports community and his leadership of the BattleHawks.”

The Board of Directors for the St. Louis Sports Commission consists of regional business, community, and sports leaders who play a vital role in the organization’s growth and success.

The St. Louis Sports Commission is the independent, privately-funded nonprofit organization that makes St. Louis a better place to live, visit, work and play through sports. Its efforts focus on attracting, creating and managing major sporting events for the St. Louis region. The organization uses the power of sports to enhance the area’s quality of life and to create economic and social benefit for the community.

Since its inception in 1989, the Sports Commission has fulfilled its mission by producing high-profile events that generate excitement, revenue and positive exposure for the region. The organization helps make St. Louis a stronger and more vibrant community. It adds to the impact of the area’s professional and collegiate teams to make a great sports community even better. The St. Louis BattleHawks kick off the first two weeks of their XFL season on the road before their first home game on Sunday, February 23 in The Dome at America’s Center.
