O’Fallon Prospect League Baseball announced Thursday the hiring of Joe Lincoln as the team’s first Manager in Prospect League play.
“We are incredibly excited to have someone of Joe’s caliber and experience as the first manager of the O’Fallon franchise,” General Manager David Schmoll said. “Joe fits the culture we are building here in O’Fallon and I look forward to working with him throughout the year to build a championship-caliber team.”
Lincoln brings a high-level of recruiting and coaching acumen to O’Fallon. Throughout his coaching career, nine of his former players are currently on MLB rosters including 2019 Home Run Derby champion Pete Alonso and Cardinals centerfielder Harrison Bader. He has coached over 40 players now in minor league systems and five first-round draft picks.
“I am extremely grateful to the O’Fallon organization for this opportunity. I am very excited to get started and bring a Prospect League championship to O’Fallon,” Lincoln said. “The community is known for having the best fans in baseball and I know that the fans will be pleased with the team we are able to put on the field for them.”
Since 2014, Lincoln has worked at Missouri State University under head coach, Keith Guttin, first as a volunteer assistant and most recently as the Director of Player Development. The Tipton, Mo. native is no stranger to the Prospect League. He served as the Head Coach for the DuPage Drones in 2016, leading the team to the second-best record in the League. He also served as hitting instructor with the Bourne Braves of the Cape Cod League.
O’Fallon Prospect League Baseball begins their inaugural season at CarShield Field in May 2020.
