SLU Volleyball Adds Stika to Coaching Staff

by Brian Kunderman

Saint Louis University volleyball has added Jimmy Stika as their volunteer assistant coach for the upcoming 2019 season, head coach Kent Miller announced Monday.

“We are excited to add Jimmy to our staff,” Miller said. “He has not only played at a high level, but he also has solid coaching experience. We are looking forward to his contribution to our team’s success.”

Prior to jumping on board with the Billikens, Stika was an assistant coach for the men’s volleyball team at Fontbonne University from 2017-2019. During his time at Fontbonne the team saw its win totals increase each year, culminating with a 26-3 season in 2019, a season that also included the first conference tournament championship and NCAA Tournament appearance in program history.

Stika played collegiately for Fontbonne from 2013-16, serving as the team’s primary libero in all four seasons. He currently ranks third all-time in school history in digs, and was ranked in the top 25 nationally in digs/set in each of his four seasons. He was named to the 2014 All-Conference team, as well as multiple Academic All-Conference teams and Fontbonne Dean’s Lists during his career. Stika graduated from Fontbonne with a bachelors in Psychology in 2016, as well as a masters in Supply Chain Management in 2019.
