Blues Sign Goaltender Joel Hofer To An Entry-Level Contract

St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General ManagerDoug Armstrong announced today the Blues have signed goaltender Joel Hofer to a three-year, entry-level contract.  Hofer was originally drafted by the Blues in the fourth round, 107thoverall, of the 2018 National Hockey League (NHL) Entry Draft.

Hofer, 18, has split this season between the Western Hockey League’s (WHL) Swift Current Broncos and Portland Winterhawks.  In 30 games with the Broncos, the 6’3, 161-pound goaltender posted a 6-21-1 record along with a .904 save percentage.  With the Winterhawks, the Winnipeg, Manitoba, native has gone 9-8-0 with a 3.18 goals-against average and a .911 save percentage in 18 appearances.  Hofer began his junior career with Swift Current in 2017-18, collecting an 8-3-1 record, a 2.61 goals-against average and a .914 save percentage while helping the Broncos capture the WHL Championship.
