St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today the Blues have activated defenseman Carl Gunnarsson from injured reserve (IR). Gunnarsson has missed the past 20 games due to an upper-body injury.
Gunnarsson, 32, has dressed in seven games with the Blues this season, posting a +2 rating. The 6’2, 200-pound defenseman was originally acquired by the Blues via trade from the Toronto Maple Leafs on June 28, 2014 and is currently in his fifth season with the organization. Overall, the Orebro, Sweden, native has appeared in 563 career regular-season games, accumulating 122 points (25 goals, 97 assists) and 153 penalty minutes.
