In October, Kevin Gates kicked off his first tour since his release from prison back in January. The tour, titled after his newest studio release Luca Brasi 3, commemorates the rapper’s album while kicking off his return to the stage.

Initially with only one date listed in Sauget, Gates’ show sold out almost instantly when it was announced back in August, which promoter Mike Judy Presents responded to by adding a second date. The second show nearly sold out, bringing over 1100 people to the venue, while the initial show maxed out capacity at 1500 attendees.

With the energy as high as it was when Gates was onstage, it is clear to see that his return to live shows was triumphant. Playing through old hits like “2 Phones” and “Really Really” while adding music from the new album as well as freestyles into his setlist, Gates surprised the audiences from start to finish of his set.

His set was on the shorter side with Gates only onstage for an hour, but his interaction with the crowd, ability to stir energy, and the beautifully unique lighting made the shows worthwhile and the crowd wanting more.
