Cardinals Sign Four More Players To Professional Contracts

The St. Louis Cardinals announced today that they have agreed to terms with four additional players with two from this month’s amateur draft.

Agreeing to terms today were third baseman from the University of Pittsburgh, Liam Sabino (35^th round); third baseman from the University of California-Irvine, Cole Kreuter (36^th round) and two non-drafted free agents, right-handed pitcher Jacob Sylvester out of Mid-America Nazarene and catcher Joe Freiday, Jr., from Virginia Tech.

Today’s announcement brings the total number of 2018 draftees signed and/or agreed to terms to 36 players.  Six of the 41 draft picks remained unsiged, with three of the players still participating in the NCAA Division 1 College World Series, Texas Tech’s Steven Gingery (4^th round) and North Carolina’s Brandon Riley (14^th round) andZack Gahagan (39^th round).
