St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today the club has signed forward Erik Foley to a three-year, entry-level contract that will begin with the 2018-19 season.  Foley, who was acquired by the Blues via trade from the Winnipeg Jets on Feb. 26, 2018, will report to San Antonio on an American Hockey League (AHL) amateur tryout after he undergoes a physical examination in St. Louis.

Foley, 20, just finished his third season at Providence College.  In 2017-18, he led the team with 35 points (16 goals, 19 assists) in 38 regular season games, earning Hockey East First All-Star Team honors.  Overall, the 6’0, 185-pound forward dressed in 110 career games at Providence, totaling 88 points (38 goals, 50 assists) and 79 penalty minutes. Internationally, the Mansfield, Massachusetts, native appeared in seven games with Team USA at the 2016-17 U-20 World Junior Championships, helping the team capture the Gold Medal.  Prior to his collegiate career, Foley spent a year with the United States Hockey League’s (USHL) Cedar Rapids RoughRiders, where he was named to the league’s All-Rookie Team in 2014-15.  Foley was originally drafted by the Winnipeg Jets in the third round, 78th overall, of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.
