Yesterday I posted in the forums of Arch City Media, and discussed how Tarasenko seems to be finding cleaner shots and getting pucks on the net for the Blues. Well, it may not have been the cleanest shot, but he had a wide open look at the net and buried the overtime game winner, from an excellent pass by Sobotka! That’s number 31 on the season folks. Watch out NHL, this guy is heating up. He now has three consecutive games with a goal for the first time this season. You could even go as far to say that he has two game winners in a row.
The Blues have now won 6 in a row. Huge, in the midst of a playoff push. You can see that these guys are really playing for each other now. You can see the chemistry and the heart this team is displaying right now. It was missing during their slump. Now, everyone is getting involved and it’s exciting. How about Sundqvist getting his first goal as a Blue?! How about Allen shaking off his goaltending issues and coming through big when we need him the most?! It feels like playoff hockey already and it should, because we need that type intensity to make sure we are in the playoffs. If this team can come into the playoffs hot, it’s going to make for an exciting postseason.
We face off against the Golden Knights on Friday night at 9:30pm. As it stands right now, we are 3 points behind Minnesota, who owns the 3rd spot in the Central, with 6 games left. We can steal that spot. The Blues have 3 games against teams with below .500 records to finish the season. Two of those games are against the Hawks and one against the Coyotes. Those should be games we theoretically get 6 points out of. The Wild finish their season a little differently. They have 6 games left as well, but 4 of those games are against teams fighting to stay in the playoff hunt and none of those games feature a team with a below .500 record. Two games against the Stars, one against the Ducks, and one against the Kings. Every point counts, and I like our odds.
Let’s Go Blues… WOOO!
