St. Louis FC will continue its Texas road trip as it take on San Antonio FC Saturday at 7:30 p.m. central time.
St. Louis is coming off a come from behind 1-1 draw against Rio Grande Valley FC after Tony Walls rebounded a header off the crossbar and finished the goal in the 82nd minute to give St. Louis its first point of the year.
San Antonio is coming off a 2-1 loss to Sacramento Republic FC after giving up a goal in stoppage time in the first half and a goal in the 47th minute in the second half. San Antonio would follow with a goal of their own from Mikey Lopez in the 68th minute, but was held off the rest of the way.
St. Louis and San Antonio split the season series last season both teams winning on the road. St. Louis won in San Antonio 1-3 and San Antonio won in St. Louis 0-2. San Antonio finished second in the western conference with 62 points as St. Louis finished outside of the playoff hunt with 36 points, just eight points out of eighth place.
St. Louis struggled to score last season only scoring 34 goals while giving up 44. On the road St. Louis struggled only putting together two wins, while drawing seven and losing five games.
After a 9-14-9 record STL FC parted ways with Preki after last season and brought in Anthony Pulis in from Orlando City B. He finished last season with a record of 19-23-20. During last season he helped lead the team to a 12 game unbeaten streak, but failed to make the playoffs by only two points. Pulis played for Orlando City B in the USL in 2012-2014 playing midfield and making 44 appearances during his time there.
Pulis and St. Louis look for better success on the road and will try to come up with its first win of the year while battling through the early part of the western conference schedule.
