St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today the club has assigned forward Sammy Blais(BLAY), defenseman Chris Butler and goaltender Ville Husso (VIHL-ee, HOO-soh) to the American Hockey League’s (AHL) San Antonio Rampage. Blais, who reported to the Blues to visit with the team’s medical staff on Thursday, Mar. 8, has been medically cleared to play.
Blais, 21, has dressed in 30 games for the Rampage this season, posting 28 points (11 goals, 17 assists) and 30 penalty minutes. The 6’2, 205-pound forward has also appeared in 11 games for the Blues, recording three points (one goal, two assists). The Montmagny, Quebec, native was originally drafted by the Blues in the sixth round, 176th overall, of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.
Butler, 31, has dressed in 52 games for the Rampage this season, tallying 24 points (eight goals, 16 assists) and 16 penalty minutes. The 6’1, 196-pound defenseman has also played in two games for the Blues. A native of St. Louis, Butler was originally signed by the Blues as a free agent on July 16, 2014.
Husso, 23, has appeared in 33 games with the Rampage this season, posting a 13-11-0 record. The 6’2, 205-pound goaltender shares fourth in the AHL overall with a .926 save percentage and ranks ninth with a 2.39 goals-against average. A native of Helsinki, Finland, Husso was originally drafted by the Blues in the fourth round, 94th overall, of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.
