PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Saint Louis fell 76-69 at Duquesne in Atlantic 10 Conference men’s basketball action Wednesday night at the Palumbo Center.

The Billikens (16-14 overall) are now in a three-way tie for fourth place (with George Mason and Saint Joseph’s) in the A-10 with a 9-7 league record. SLU is still very much alive for the No. 4 seed in next week’s A-10 Championship, which would give the Billikens a double bye.

Javon Bess led the Billikens with 20 points on 6-of-15 shooting and 7-of-7 from the stripe. Jalen Johnson scored 18 points and was 5-of-6 from the line. Davell Roby and Aaron Hines chipped in 11 points apiece for Saint Louis.

The Billikens committed a season-high 20 turnovers.

Saint Louis trailed by as many as 12 points in the first half but closed the half on a 13-4 run.

The second half saw the Billikens take a three-point lead with 4:41 remaining, but the Dukes would go on a 9-0 run and grab a lead they would not relinquish.

Saint Louis hosts St. Bonaventure on Saturday night in the regular-season finale. Game time at Chaifetz Arena is 7 p.m., and the game will be televised on FOX Sports Midwest.
