Saint Louis received double-doubles from Hasahn French and Jordan Goodwin in a 66-47 Atlantic 10 Conference road victory at UMass on Saturday.
The win evens the Billikens’ record at 10-10 overall, and they improve to 3-4 in A-10 play. UMass falls to 10-10 and 3-4 in the league.
The victory was the 300th NCAA Division I win for SLU head coach Travis Ford, and it came at a former head coaching stop. Ford served as head coach at UMass from 2005-08, and today’s game was his first trip to the Mullins Center as an opposing coach.
Jordan Goodwin led the Billikens with 19 points and eight assists. He added 10 rebounds to complete the double-double.
Hasahn French scored 12 points and added 10 rebounds for the double-double. It marked the first time in school history that a pair of Billiken freshmen recorded double-doubles in the same game.
The road win was the first of the season for Saint Louis, and its first since winning at George Mason on Jan. 14 of last year.
Saint Louis never trailed in the game. The Billikens shot 60.7 percent in the first half to open up an 11 point lead at the break.
SLU utilized a 16-0 run in the second half to break the game open, and SLU cruised to the 19-point win.
The Billikens return to action Tuesday night when they host VCU at Chaifetz Arena in an 8 p.m. tip. The game will be televised on CBS Sports Network.
