Cardinals announce changes to Front Office Staff, Amateur Scouting and International Operations

St. Louis Cardinals President of Baseball Operations John Mozeliak today announced numerous staff changes and promotions within the team’s Baseball Operations group, including the Front Office, Amateur Scouting and International Operations.

The following promotions and staff assignments will take place in the team’s Front Office, with Luis Morales promoted to Director of International Operations and Administration; Matt Slater named Special Assistant to the General Manager, Player Procurement; Matt Bayer promoted to Manager of Scouting Analytics; Tyler Hadzinsky named Amateur Scouting Coordinator/Analyst and Emily Wiebe promoted to Baseball Operations Analyst.

Changes and new hires within the Cardinals Amateur Scouting staff include the following:  Sean Moran promoted to National Cross Checker; Zach Mortimer promoted to Northeast Regional Cross Checker;Stacey Pettis hired as Area Scout of Northern California; Jim Negrych hired as Northeast Area Scout and Chris Rodriguez hired as Pacific Northwest Area Scout.

The Cardinals also announced that Joe Almaraz has been promoted to International Cross Checker, Jose Leger has been hired as the team’s Latin American Field and Academy Development Coordinator,Alix Martinez has been hired as Dominican Republic Area Scout, Damaso Espino will serve as Latin American Cross Checker and Jose Gonzalez Maestre has been named Venezuela Scouting Supervisor.
