St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today the club has signed forward Tanner Kaspick to a three-year, entry-level contract.
Kaspick, 19, is currently in his fifth season with the Western Hockey League’s (WHL) Brandon Wheat Kings. Last season, the 6-foot-1, 203-pound forward recorded 45 points (19 goals, 26 assists) and 75 penalty minutes in 49 regular season games, as well as two assists and eight penalty minutes in three postseason games.
In 2015-16, Kaspick posted 10 points (five goals, five assists) in 21 postseason games, helping the Wheat Kings capture the WHL Championship. He was also named the WHL’s 2015-16 Scholastic Player of the Year. Overall, Kaspick has totaled 100 points (37 goals, 63 assists) in 159 career WHL regular season games.
Internationally, the Brandon, Manitoba native has represented Canada at multiple tournaments, including the 2016 Hlinka Memorial, where he captured a gold medal. Kaspick was originally drafted by the Blues in the fourth round, 119th overall, of the 2016 NHL Draft.
