Wrestlemania 33 Preview: Part Nine

by Jeremy Karp

Let’s address the elephant in the room right away: Roman Reigns has been pushed to be the next “face” of the company; and the majority of fans do not like it. Despite that, there’s enough fans of his out there that are excited to see that transition happen.

But even they might not like the fact that at Wrestlemania 33, he may hand The Undertaker only his second loss at Wrestlemania (Brock Lesnar was the first). Despite him being universally despised, Reigns actually impresses in the ring, and the promos he cuts have improved substantially. No longer pandering to the crowd, Reigns doesn’t care what others think, and goes out and just does business like another day at the office.

At the 2017 Royal Rumble, Reigns eliminated The Undertaker after entering at #30. A few weeks ago, Reigns was facing off against Braun Strowman, when suddenly, the “bell gong” rang throughout the arena, and the lights went out. The crowd roared like crazy, and when the lights turned back on, The Undertaker stared right at Reigns like a man on a mission.

This has been one of the most hyped up matches of Wrestlemania 33, and for good reason. Many don’t want Reigns to win, but here’s the problem: The Undertaker just turned 52, and while he still has energy left in the tank, is it enough to keep on going for years to come?

Let’s not forget how controversial and shocking it was when Lesnar ended The Undertaker’s undefeated streak at Wrestlemania back at the 30th annual event. Should Reigns win, it might even be more controversial mainly because fans feel he has been shoved down their throats in preparation for being the new “top dog” in the company.

Only time will tell how this match will play out.

It’s definitely one you CAN NOT miss!
