Wrestlemania 33 Preview: Part Six

by Jeremy Karp

John Cena has been the face of WWE for over a decade, and has been with the company for 15 years. He has headlined dozens of PPV’s, and of course, has been one of the biggest draws at Wrestlemania.

This year, he’s a little lower on the card. But don’t let it fool you, because the other wrestlers involved, combined with a great feud build-up makes this a match very deserving to be on the card at Wrestlemania. It features Cena teaming up with his girlfriend Nikki Bella going up against The Miz and his wife Maryse. The Miz is arguably the best heel in WWE. It is easy to despise him, and that’s what makes him so entertaining. His multiple reigns as WWE Intercontinental Champion were some of the best WWE has seen in a long time, and his promos are always a must-listen.

In the “Battle of the Couples”, it has gotten deeply personal between them, with Maryse saying Bella ruined her chances at success in WWE, and with The Miz and Maryse parodying Cena and Bella’s show “Total Bellas” in skits praised by critics.

General manager Daniel Bryan (who also has had his issues with The Miz) has made it official: it will be the team of Cena + Bella against The Miz + Maryse in an “Intergender Tag Team Match”. The last time The Miz and Cena wrestled each other at Wrestlemania, they headlined Wrestlemania 27 for the WWE Championship, in which The Miz emerged victorious in stunning fashion.

Now, six Wrestlemania events later, they face off again, this time with their significant others involved. It’ll likely be a match that is placed in between two of the title matches, so it might seem as if they are in a precarious situation. But there’s a lot of star power in this match.

Enough to be a stand-out match.
