Blues forward Paul Stastny has been placed on injured reserve with an upper-body injury.
Stastny was injured in the third period of Tuesday’s 3-2 overtime win against the Dallas Stars, playing just over two minutes in the period. He remained on the bench throughout the game.
“He took a hit in the beginning of the third period so he’s day-to-day,” Blues Head Coach Ken Hitchcock. “…he’ll be ready right after the (holiday) break.”
The Blues forward was placed on injured reserve to make a roster spot to recall forward Wade Megan from the Chicago Wolves. Stastny won’t play Thursday against the Tampa Bay Lightning but he would be eligible to return on Dec. 28 when the Blues host the Philadelphia Flyers.
Stastny has seven goals and 10 assists in 34 games with the Blues this season.
Megan, 26, ranks third on the Chicago Wolves with 24 points (13 goals, 11 assists) in 28 games this season. He has spent the past five seasons in the AHL, registering 78 points (47 goals, 31 assists) in 218 career regular season games.
