Edmundson placed on injured reserve

St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today the Blues have placed defenseman Joel Edmundson on injured reserve.

Edmundson suffered an upper-body injury in the Blues’ 5-1 win over the Avalanche on Sunday and will be re-evaluated in three weeks.

In addition, the Blues have recalled defenseman Petteri Lindbohm from their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Chicago Wolves, and assigned forward Ty Rattie to Chicago for a conditioning assignment.

Edmundson, 23, has dressed in 13 games for the Blues this season, posting one assist and 17 penalty minutes. During his rookie campaign last season, the 6-foot-4, 220-pound defenseman collected nine points (one goal, eight assists) and 63 penalty minutes in 67 regular season games and one goal and eight penalty minutes in 16 postseason appearances.

Lindbohm, 23, has played in five games for the Wolves this season, serving nine penalty minutes. The 6-foot-3, 206-pound defenseman has appeared in 33 career NHL games with the Blues, logging three points (two goals, one assist) and 33 penalty minutes.

Rattie, 23, has dressed in one game for the Blues this season. The 6-foot, 185-pound forward has appeared in 27 career NHL regular season games, posting eight points (four goals, four assists) and six penalty minutes.
