September is the month of comebacks. In 2011, the Cardinals chances of making the playoffs were 4.3%, they were 10.5 games back and only had 30 games left of the season. Then September happened, the Cardinals started playing, started breaking records, and were finally making a surprising comeback. In a crucial 3 game series against Atlanta (September 9-11) the Cardinals beat the odds and swept the Braves, thanks to a Schumaker single, Pujols tying the game, and on the last night a three run double, by Molina. The luck continued with the Cards clinching the wildcard on the last day of the season. The rest is history, with what was rumored to be luck from a squirrel, 2011 became the Cardinals dream year. So, just remember September is never to late for a comeback!
