MEMPHIS, Tennessee – Memphis Redbirds left-hander Ryan Sherriff has been added to the Pacific Coast League roster for next week’s Triple-A All-Star Game and is replacing Sam redbirds061816-179Tuivailala, who was selected initially but was recalled to St. Louis July 2.

The game will be held Wednesday, July 13 at BB&T Ballpark in Charlotte, North Carolina, home of the International League’s Charlotte Knights, and will be televised live on MLB Network at 6:00 p.m. (CT). Redbirds manager Mike Shildt, a Charlotte native, will be a coach for the PCL All-Stars.

The winner will earn the right to have its champion play as the “home team” at the Gildan Triple-A National Championship Game, taking place Tuesday, Sept. 20, at AutoZone Park in Memphis.

In 42.1 innings pitched out of the bullpen this season, Sherriff has a 2.13 ERA and a 3-0 record. He ranks fifth in the PCL in both lowest batting average-against (.196) and fewest baserunners allowed per nine innings (9.8).

The Cardinals’ 28th round selection in the 2011 First-Year Player Draft, Sherriff split time last season between Memphis and Springfield (AA). In 360.2 minor league innings entering this season Sherriff holds a 22-19 record and a 3.04 ERA, and he averages just one walk in every 4.1 innings pitched.

In addition to the MLB Network television broadcast, the game will be available to subscribers of MiLB.tv and MLB.com At Bat, as well as on MLBNetwork.com. The Armed Forces Network will showcase the event, bringing the action to the U.S. Armed Forces stationed outside the United States on U.S. military installations and aboard U.S. Navy ships at sea. The game call will also be simulcast on MLB Network Radio on SiriusXM Channel 89.
