The St. Louis Cardinals have announced that Cardinals OF Tommy Pham will begin a Rehab Assignment with the Springfield Cardinals at Hammons Field on Thursday, May 12.
The Cardinals take on the Northwest Arkansas Naturals, the Kansas City Royals Double-A affiliate, on Thursday, May 12 at 7:10pm. Thursday’s game is a Klement’s “Buck a Brat” Night with $1 Klement’s bratwursts throughout the game. Click the link below to get your tickets right now.
Pham, 28, owns a career .263 batting average with five home runs, seven doubles, five triples and 18 RBIs through 59 Major League games with St. Louis. Pham made his big league debut on September 9, 2014, before serving as a catalyst for St. Louis throughout the second half of the 2015 season. Last year, Pham collected seven game-winning RBIs for St. Louis, tying for 4th-most on the club. Five of his seven game-winning RBIs came in September, which tied for that month’s high among all National Leaguers.
The Las Vegas, Nevada native is no stranger to Hammons Field, spending parts of four seasons with Springfield from 2010 – 2013. One of the most dynamic outfielders in Springfield Cardinals history, Pham is tied for 3rd all-time with nine career triples. A 16th-round pick in 2006 out of Durango High School in Las Vegas, Pham suited up in 699 Minor League games before becoming the 68th all-time Springfield Cardinal to debut with St. Louis.
