(ST. PETERS, MO) The St. Chux Derby Chix, ranked #63 internationally by the Women’s Flat Derby Association (WFTDA), snapped a five-game losing streak with a 237-150 victory over #73 Demolition City Saturday night at Matteson Square Gardens.

The Pack in Black (2-5) incorporated stubborn blocking early en route to the 87-point duke. Skaters Tara Eyes, Blue Collar Brawler, Slaughterhaus, Big Red, Sha’Killa, Judy Boom and Danisaurus Rex constructed the foundation that helped SCDC limit Demolition City to only 20 points scored after 15 jams.

This enabled jammers Jedi Knight-N-Gale, Darth Maully and Connor to pace the Pack in Black’s 122-53 lead at intermission.

Demolition City (Evansville, IN) chipped away at the deficit in the opening stages of the second period and narrowed the score to 142-85 after three jams but the surge was stopped as Knight-N-Gale’s 24-pointer on the next rotation helped swell SCDC’s lead to 166-85.

The visitors countered with a 39-6 rally as the period progressed and narrowed the score to 172-124 but St. Chux responded with a five-jam, 28-3 stretch run that secured the win.

SCDC outscored Demolition City in the second half, 115-97, in route to its second triumph of the year.

Knight-N-Gale topped St. Chux scoring with 133 points followed by Connor’s 52.

The Pack In Black continues WFTDA-sanctioned action on the road with a Saturday, May 21 match-up against #51 Chicago Outfit Syndicate. SCDC’s next home event at Matteson Square Gardens is set for Saturday, June 4.

INDIVIDUAL SCDC SCORING: Jedi Knight-N-Gale 133, Conner 52, Darth Maully 28, Big Red15, Danisaurus Rex 5, Sha’Killa 4.

In the other half of Saturday’s twin bill, SCDC’s B-team, the Hell’s Belles, suffered a 203-100 setback to the A-team of Metro East-based Confluence Crush Roller Derby.
