Matt Holliday Headlines Speaker Series Event At Busch Stadium

by Press Release

The St. Louis Cardinals are hosting an exclusive Speaker Series event with seven-time All-Star Matt Holliday on Thursday, May 19, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at Busch Stadium.

As part of the event, Holliday will offer unique insight into the Cardinals Clubhouse as well as discuss his successful MLB career and his place within the Cardinals organization during a 45 minute Q&A session with broadcaster Dan McLaughlin.

“This is an extraordinary opportunity for fans to get to know our players in an intimate setting over lunch,” said Julia Row, Director of Special Events.  “We are grateful that Matt Holliday is taking the time to help us kick off this exciting new speaker series that fans won’t want to miss.”

In addition to the program, fans that purchase a ticket will enjoy lunch and drinks in the Cardinals Club and a photo opportunity on the warning track.  This is the first Speaker Series event to feature a current Cardinals player.

Holliday is the third longest tenured Cardinal on the roster since being acquired via trade with the Oakland Athletics in July of 2009.  Holliday leads the club in home runs (139), RBI (564) and games played (891) since joining the Cardinals.  He is a four-time Silver Slugger award winner and won the National League batting title with a .340 average in 2007.  In additional to his vast baseball accomplishments, Holliday was voted by his teammates as the 2010 recipient of the Darryl Kile Award and formed “Homers for Health” in 2012 to help raise money for kids at SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center.

Tickets for this event are $80 and can be purchased at cardinals.com/speakerseries.
