With a pair of wins to start out the indoor football season undefeated, the River City Raiders return to Family Arena this Sunday for a 3:05 pm match-up against the Cincinnati Bulldogs.
The Raiders (2-0) kept its record unblemished in a 75-68 nail biter over West Michigan three weekends ago. In the seven-point win, River City climbed back from an early 21-0 deficit and survived a second-half shoot out with the Ironmen that contained seven lead changes.
River City quarterback Tarean Austin (Lindenwood University-Belleville) had a hand in nine of the ten touchdowns scored by the locals, who claimed sole possession of the lead in the ten-team American Indoor Football (AIF) Northern Division. Austin had five touchdown runs and four scoring passes in the win.
Receiver DeAndre Jackson had three touchdown catches and kicker Corey Adamson finished the game with 15 points via a pair of field goals and by converting 9-of-10 extra point kicks.
The result of Sunday’s game will not apply to the Raiders’ AIF ledger as visiting Cincinnati (0-0) is a member of the Blue Collar Football League. That being said, the Raiders aim to keep its inaugural campaign perfect with a win over the Bulldogs.
Fans can go the River City Raiders’ official website – indoorraiders.com – to claim an online voucher of four free tickets to Sunday’s game.
