So far, the Wrestlemania 32 pre-show, which will be taking place… well… before the actual Wrestlemania show, features the Andre’ the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, and The Dudley Boyz vs. The Usos. But there is still one more match that will be on the pre-show: and it is a ten-divas tag team match. Needless to say, it has been set up as a cluttered mess, but there is plenty of talent on the female roster.
The teams are split up as follows: Team B.A.D & Blonde (which features Lana, Naomi, Tamina, Emma, and Summer Rae) will be facing off against the tag team of Brie Bella, Paige, Natalya, Alicia Fox, and Eva Marie. Now, for those who don’t know Marie especially out of the rest of the divas, here is the issue: she has faced heavy criticism by the media and wrestling community as a whole for her in-ring work, which really has struggled.
Over the course of the past year-or-so, Marie has worked with wrestler Brian Kendrick to fine-tune her wrestling and prepare herself better. And while a member of NXT, WWE’s developmental territory, she actually has been a “heel” (bad guy, or in this case, girl). So, having her on the “face” (good) team of the match is another questionable decision.
But the questionable results of Marie’s in-ring work and allegiance isn’t the only problem with this match.
The other problem is how little buildup, and how little investment has been given to this match.
Originally, it was scheduled to be an eight-divas tag team match, but with the addition of Emma on the Team B.A.D & Blonde side, there of course had to be an addition on the team who is comprised of everyone on the reality show Total Divas.
There was a multi-divas tag team match at Wrestlemania 26, and was rated the lowest match of the night by many publications, and for this upcoming Wrestlemania, we’ll see how the talented female wrestlers involved in this match perform.
