Wrestlemania 32 Preview: Part Two

by Jeremy Karp

On April 13th, 1996, the tag team know as The Dudley Boyz made their debut in the now-defunct Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW). While there were plenty of members of the “Dudley” family, the two most famous are Bubba Ray Dudley and D-Von Dudley. In 1999, the Dudley Boyz made their debut in the WWE (then known as the World Wrestling Federation). Immediately, much like in ECW, they made an impact, making a name for themselves by famously bringing out tables to the ring to use as weapons.

After their matches (and/or during them), the Dudley’s would put their opponent(s) through the tables as the crowd roared in excitement.

The “brothers” also took part in two of the most famous matches in WWE history: both of which took place at Wrestlemania’s. They were triple-threat, tag-team TLC (table, ladder, and chair) matches for the Tag Team Championships. However, they lost both of these matches. They remained in WWE until 2005, and eventually left to wrestling for other promotions, but made their return in mid-2015.

Now, with the fans against them, they face off at Wrestlemania 32 against The Usos, better known as Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso, the sons of Hall of Fame wrestler Rikishi. This all began when the Dudley Boyz turned their backs on the Usos over a month ago on WWE Monday Night RAW. The Dudley Boyz also no longer use the tables that played a role in making them the most decorated tag team in professional wrestling history, although of course, that isn’t the only reason they are where they are in the wrestling world.

Neither team are the WWE Tag Team Champions, which will make this a non-title match, and also this match will not be contested on the actual show, but instead on the pre-show, which takes place before the opening televised match. Regardless, this match will feature two of the top tag teams within World Wrestling Entertainment, as well as one of the greatest tag teams of all-time, which is sure to make it a great bout to get the fans even more excited for the matches ahead.
