(ST. LOUIS, MO) In the second round of the six-event GateKeepers Roller Derby 2015-16 local campaign, The Raiders of Forest Park notched its inaugural franchise victory with a 210-134 triumph over the Creve Coroners Sunday afternoon at The Skatium in South St. Louis.
The Raiders (1-1) now sit in second place in the three-team standings, trailing the league-leading Central West Friends (1-0) by half a game.
At the conclusion of the six-game regular season, the two teams a top the standings will meet for the GKRD Turf Wars title in April 2016.
The Raiders posted a 103-65 lead early in the second period and outpaced the Coroners (0-1) for the remainder of the contest, 107-69, to pick up the 76-point duke.
The Coroners return to the flat-track against the Friends on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Midwest Sport Hockey in Ballwin, MO. If they record a victory over the current GKRD leader, they will send the standings into a three-way tie at the regular season’s midpoint.
Ticket for the January game, which also features Arch Rival Roller Girls‘ local action with a match-up between the M-80s (1-0) and the Stunt Devils (0-1), are only $10 and can be purchased at the door or AT THIS LINK online.
