River City Raiders Name Corey Bethany as Head Coach

by Press Release

Officials from the River City Raiders announced today that Corey Bethany has been named as the team’s new head coach. Bethany currently serves as the offensive coordinator for one of the nation’s top high school football programs, the CBC Cadets.

“Corey is the perfect fit for where this franchise is heading both on and off the field,” said team President and CEO Kenny Nowling. “He is not only an incredibly talented football coach, he has a tremendous amount of character. I couldn’t be happier to have Corey leading this team.”

Bethany, a St. Louis native and graduate of Marquette High School and William Jewell College, brings several years of experience as both a player and a coach to a team that many feel will contend for the AIF championship in 2016. Since his arrival, CBC has a record of 57-7 and were 2014 Missouri Class 6 State Champions and 2011 Missouri Class 6 State Runner-ups. Bethany also brings six years of professional indoor football coaching experience to the Raiders.

“I am thrilled to be the new head coach of the River City Raiders,” said Bethany. “I have devoted my life to the sport of football, and to get my first opportunity as a head coach in my hometown is a dream come true.”

The Raiders, who will play all of their home games at The Family Arena in St. Charles, Mo. just west of St. Louis, recently joined the AIF, one of the country’s premier professional indoor football leagues.
