The St. Louis Rams have signed free agent WR Nick Toon to a one-year contract. Toon is a former fourth round draft pick out of the University of Wisconsin and played with the New Orleans Saints from 2012 until he was cut in early September of this year.
Toon’s career stats are as follows:
16 games played-21 receptions-283 receiving yards-1 touchdown
Toon only played in 2013 and 2014 because he was injured in 2012. Toon was also injured in the preaseason of 2015 and the Saints and Toon reached an injury settlement and Toon was waived.
The Rams worked out Toon and several other wide receivers in the week prior to their loss against the Steelers. The Rams pass catchers have struggled mightily thus far in the season and Toon can provide some depth for the Rams WR core. Toon also worked out for the Seattle Seahawks last week.
Toon is listed as 6’4″ 218 lbs. and runs a 4.43 in the forty-yard dash. Toon is also the son of NFL Hall of Famer Al Toon.
