Saint Louis University Billikens (3-1) vs. Denver Pioneers (4-0-1)

Date: Friday, September 18

Time: 7:00 PM

Location: St. Louis, MO; Hermann Stadium

Ranking the Billikens: After the No. 16 ranked Billikens faced a comeback loss on the road to the Akron Zips on Friday, Sept. 11, the Billikens have dropped just outside of the NSCAA Coaches Poll, which was announced Tuesday afternoon. Later that Tuesday evening, however, the Billikens topped the No. 19 Louisville Cardinals away from home in a thrilling 3-2 overtime victory. The coaches poll will be updated and announced Tuesday, Sept. 22.

Scouting Denver: The unbeaten Pioneers have earned its highest ranking in program history jumping  to No. 15 in this week’s NSCAA Poll. This Friday’s match makes the Pioneers the Billikens’ third straight opponent receiving votes.

Offensive Force: In the first four games of the season, the Billikens have registered nine goals. Last season, the Billikens, who ended up reaching the second round of the NCAA playoffs, had only five goals in their first four matches, with three opponents remaining the same (Memphis, Tulsa, and Louisville). Currently, senior Notre Dame transfer Vince Cicciarelli leads the team with four goals, while midfielder Filip Pavisic has two.

Streaking At Home: The Billikens have yet to lose a match on their home turf since a playoff upset on Nov. 18, 2012 to Farleigh Dickinson. Currently, the Billikens are 1-0 at home with a 3-0 victory against the Memphis Tigers on Friday, Sept. 4.
