The Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) released its latest set of calculated rankings Wednesday afternoon and, as a result, the two local franchises featured at archcitysports.com received post-season bids.
St. Louis-based Arch Rival Roller Girls is ranked #11 internationally and is designated as the third seed in the WFTDA Division 1 playoff round held in Tucson, AZ. St. Louis (11-0) will face sixth-seeded Team United Roller Derby in a quarterfinal match-up held on Friday, September 4.
The top three finishers of the ten-team bracketed tournament will advance to the WFTDA Division 1 Championships, held in St. Paul, MN in November.
St. Charles-based St. Chux Derby Chix is ranked #54 internationally and is designated as the seventh seed in the WFTDA Division 2 playoff round held in Cleveland, OH. St. Chux (2-7) will face the tenth-seeded Brandywine Belligerents in a quarterfinal play-in game on Friday, August 21.
The top two finishers of this bracketed tournament will also advance to the WFTDA Division 2 Championships, held during the same weekend as the Division 1 finale.
