BREAKING: Jackman not returning to St. Louis Blues

The End of an Era: Today the Saint Louis Blues have informed Barret Jackman that they will not be resigning him this coming off season. The 34 year old Defenseman will become a UFA starting July 1st.

In the 1999 NHL Entry Level Draft, the Saint Louis Selected Defenseman Barret Jackman no. 17 overall. Little did they know, how much a success the young defender would become, and what he would do for the city of Saint Louis.

Jackman has played over 800 games dawning the Blue Note on his chest. He is second overall in career games played as a Blue, only trailing Hall of Fame member Bernie Federko, who played a total of 927 games for the Blues.

During his time with the Blues, Jackman posted 181 pts, 1026 pims, 528 hits, and 718 blocks.
