Toronto FC 2 visit Saint Louis F.C.

Games are coming thick and fast now for Saint Louis FC as they welcome Toronto FC 2 to town to play just five days after registering their first home win on Saturday. This being the second of a four game home stand, the momentum is certainly with Dale Schilly’s team after recording two victories on the spin at Oklahoma City Energy and against Wilmington.

Toronto 2 enter WWT soccer park with only one victory thus far on the season, an opening day win at bottom of the table Montreal.  They will certainly be looking to assistant coach Alex Dufty for tactical help as he played under Schilly for AC St Louis five years ago and will know what to expect with a Schilly led team.

With Saint Louis playing well recently, it has garnered the attention outside of the local sphere as Richard Dixon has been selected by his national team Jamaica to represent his country at the up coming Copa America in Chile and the CONCACAF gold Cup in the USA this summer. Dixon will leave St Louis at the end of May and rejoin after the Gold Cup has finished.

“This is a great honor for Richard,” STL FC Head Coach Dale Schilly said.  “He has taken his game to a new level in the past few months and certainly deserves this call-up.  We wish him all the best with Jamaica and look forward to his return later this summer.”

Goalkeeper Alec Kann, who made a hattrick of impressive saves in a single phase of play against Wilmington, along with goalscorer Sam Fink were selected in the USL team of the week honors.
