(On how he coped and what he did all weekend)
“Hang out with friends and try to take my mind off it.”
(On what it was like playing at Memphis)
“It was a different experience. It was an experience that was worth it. We started as one of the worst teams in the nation and everything. This year we ascended to the top. It was a good feeling knowing that you made a difference in the city and that school.”
(On when he hurt his knee)
“It was the first game.”
(On what his injury was)
“It was an MCL sprain.”
(On having a huge 2013 season and then suffering the injury and if it bothered him all year)

(On if he just had to rest his injury; it didn’t require surgery)
“Yes.”
(On if the injury affected his production)
“Right. I missed four games.”
(On his playing style)
“A guy who’s going to study his opponent and then see if my move is going to work on him and then if not, then I improvise from there. I’m more of a power guy. But I can use different techniques to get to the quarterback, so I’m more versatile.”
(On if he played defensive tackle as well)
“I played tackle also.”
(On if he has a preference as to where he plays on the line)
“No, it didn’t matter. Just wherever they put me, I wanted to play.”
(On if he played all defensive end last year)
“Yes.”
(On what he knows about the Rams’ defense)
“I know that they have a really, really strong defense and defensive line so I’m really excited to learn from the veterans.”
(On if he talked with Defensive Line Coach Mike Waufle during the pre-draft process)
“Yes, I spoke with him over the phone.”
(On if he knew the Rams were interested in him)
“Yes, I knew they were interested. But I didn’t know whether they were going to take a D-lineman because they’ve drafted a couple of them over the past year.”
(On if he talked to the Rams at the combine)
“No visit. I did talk to them at the combine though.”
(On what the scene was like at his house when he got the call and if it was more relief or excitement)
“It was more relief. I wasn’t at my house. I was actually at a friend’s house and he didn’t have ESPN. I have it recorded at my house. I’m about to go back and watch it in a second.”
(On if he wasn’t able to watch TV)
“No, I couldn’t watch it on TV.”
(On how he kept up with the draft)
“I was on my phone. My phone was updating each pick like every second.”
(On if it made it tougher not being able to watch the draft)
“No, I’d rather not watch it. It was more nerve-racking watching it than not watching it.”
(On how he passed the time)
“I was just watching TV. I didn’t look at my phone.”
