After two games on the road in Louisville and Tulsa. The wait is finally over for Saint Louis FC fans to see the team competitively at Soccer Park in Fenton when they welcome the Pittsburgh Riverhounds to town.
With identical records of one win and one loss each, this game will set the momentum for the rest of the season for both teams.
Last week Saint Louis comfortably beat Tulsa 2-0 with goals from Jermie Lynch and Bryan Gaul either side of half time in a game they never really looked in danger of losing.
Coach Dale Schilly will look for a similar performance from the team that saw USL name star forward Lynch and goalkeeper Mark Pais named in the USL team of the week. Schilly stated on Tuesday “Mark and Jermie are both very deserving of this honor. They both played important roles in us coming away with the victory in Tulsa last week”
The first league game on Saturday has been announced as a sellout with the Soccer Park holding approximately 5,200 capacity, no more tickets are available. Single game tickets are however being sold for the April 18th matchup at home to Rochester Rhinos.
It is the same Rochester team that defeated current opposition Pittsburgh Riverhounds 2-1 on Saturday April 4th at Highmark Stadium in Pittsburgh. The Riverhounds only win came in the first week when they demolished the Harrisburg City Islanders 5-2
For fans without tickets, the game may be heard on 550 KTRS with Saint Louis veteran soccer announcers Bill McDermott and Bob Ramsey, and also on the Saint Louis FC YouTube channel
