Frabasilio Rips Two Grand Slams As Billikens Take Two From Northern Colorado

ST. LOUIS – Senior catcher Colton Frabasilio hit three home runs, two of which were grand slams, as the Billikens defeated Northern Colorado in both games of a double header. Clay Smith (4-0) led the Billikens to a 9-2 win in game one and Josh Moore (2-1) won game two, 16-1. With the pair of wins, Saint Louis rises to 11-7 on the year.

Frabasilio was a tough out against the Bears. In game one, he was 1-4 with his lone hit being a grand slam to right field. It was his first home run of the season. In game two, Frabasilio was even better, going 3-4 with two home runs, one of which was another grand slam, and six RBIs. In the two games he hit .500 with a 1.625 slugging percentage, four runs scored and 10 RBIs.

Frabasilio’s three home runs lead the Billikens this season.

In addition to Frabasilio’s success, Braxton Martinez had a strong game at the plate in game one. He was 2-3 with a double and three runs.

On the hill, Smith was solid, throwing eight shutout innings with two hits and two walks allowed with five strikeouts. The win was the 19th of his career, moving him to fourth on SLU’s all-time pitcher wins list.

In game two, Jake Henson had a career-best four hits on five at bats with four runs scored and two RBIs. Freshman Parker Sniatynski went 3-5 with three RBI and a run scored.

Moore turned in a career-high nine strikeouts in six innings with two walks, two hits and one earned run allowed.

The Billikens will host the Bears in the series finale at the Billiken Sports Center on March 15. RHP Zach Girrens will take the hill for Saint Louis. First pitch is slated for 1 p.m.
