by Press Release

Brianna Lore tossed the second no-hitter of her collegiate career Friday to lead Saint Louis to a 7-0 victory over host Kennesaw State at the Owl Invitational.

Lore, who evened her record at 4-4, retired 13 of the last 14 batters she faced. She struck out two and walked two.

The Billikens (9-6) scored in four different innings, plating two runs in the fourth, sixth and seventh frames and one in the fifth.

SLU got all the scoring it needed in the fourth. Allie Macfarlane reached on an error with one out, and Lindsay Friedman followed with her fourth home run of the season.

In the fifth, Alex Nickel led off with a single, moved to third on Mackenzie Peter’s one-out double and scored on an illegal pitch.

Friedman reached on an error to begin the sixth, and with two outs she stole second and advanced to third on a passed ball. Madeline Brungardt walked and swiped second, and Nickel came through with a two-run single.

Saint Louis concluded the scoring in the seventh. The Bills loaded the bases on Peter’s double, a walk to Elizabeth Everingham and Macfarlane’s single. Peter scored when Friedman was hit by a pitch, and Lore’s sacrifice fly plated pinch runner Brittany Durant.
